ULS Watering of Planters

In Discovery Ridge, you will begin to see the ULS tanker truck watering seasonal flowers near the roundabout. During the current Critical Water Main Break emergency, ULS will use water that doesn’t impact the city’s water supply. It comes from an irrigation pond located on ULS property in Rockyview County, east of Calgary.

Discovery Ridge has an Enhanced Landscape Management (ELM) Agreement with The City of Calgary. ELM communities have been given permission by the city to carry out this work if the water is sourced elsewhere. We are grateful to ULS for their willingness to let us use their water source.

The irrigation system located at our community entrance was shut when the emergency alert was issued and will remain so as long as required.

We encourage our community members to do their part to reduce indoor water usage to ensure there is enough water for essential public health and safety services. Learn more about doing your part at Calgary.ca/16AveWaterMain.
