Though summer is winding down, our Discovery Ridge landscaping remains beautiful – something that really sets our neighbourhood apart. Hopefully the good weather will continue well into autumn and we can all enjoy our views, walkways, and parks as the days shorten. ULS and Pixie Gardens will still be caring for our summer landscape so watch out for them as you drive by.
Outstanding Fees

Landscaping Update
This year has been a successful one from a landscaping point of view. The City completed a large-scale tree replacement on our medians and green spaces. In some places these new trees filled in gaps that had existed for several years. We have managed to avoid both watering restrictions from too little rain and mowing problems cause by soft ground that has seen too much rain. ULS has done a great job keeping the medians and planters free of weeds and looking great. It is very nice to not have to deal with any serious issues during this growing season.
During July we heard from several homeowners about the waterfall feature at the roundabout not working properly. We checked and the pump system was indeed being blocked by leaves blown into the water. This was a great example of residents reaching out to NDHA about a landscape issue. If you tell us about a landscaping issue within Discovery Ridge, we will work with our contractors to sort it out. Can you help?
The NDHA is a volunteer-run organization and by operating this way the Board estimates that we save about $100,000 per year, versus hiring a management company. To keep this operation running, we will need to identify one or two new volunteers each year, to help fill gaps resulting from Directors retiring. If you want to support the NDHA’s operations and think you have a few hours each month to spare us, we would like to talk to you.
