March 2024 Update

Homeowners’ Association News

Happy March! As the winter season winds down, our main priority continues to be clearing snow from the community pathways. ULS works to make our paths as safe as possible during the winter months, but Mother Nature gives us all manner of weather and temperatures at this time of the year and ice can form unexpectedly, especially on slopes. Please be vigilant when walking outside. Use caution and don’t hesitate to contact us if you find an area that needs attention.

2024 FEES: By now, you should have received your annual NDHA invoice. Your 2024 membership fee remains at $325.00. For most homeowners, your invoice was sent to the email address registered on your membership account portal. Please check your “junk” folder if you have not yet seen it. If there is no email address set up in your portal, a paper invoice was sent to your on-file mailing address via Canada Post. We ask that you ensure your email address, mailing address and other contact information is registered and up to date with the NDHA. Fee payments can be made by credit card, Interac E-Transfer, or by cheque. Please refer to your invoice for further payment information.

If you are unsure of your invoice or payment status, you can access this information via your membership portal at ndha.ca. If you have questions or concerns, or require help accessing the membership portal, contact our Membership Director at NDHAmembership@ndha.ca. **Important: some people own multiple homes in Discovery Ridge; please indicate your full name and the address of the property in your email enquiry.

Thank you in advance for your timely payment!

NEW HOMEOWNER? If you have moved to Discovery Ridge in the past year, WELCOME! If you have any questions about the NDHA or the work we do in the community, this info can be found on our website at ndha.ca The monthly news articles on our homepage, and the FAQ tab are fabulous sources of important information for our members!

If you are unfamiliar with how to set up and access your membership portal, or have difficulty doing so, please email our Membership Director at NDHAmembership@ndha.ca We would really appreciate you taking a moment to do this; it is important that we record the correct owner information for your property in our files. It will also make a big difference in how much time our volunteers spend tracking down new owners; lawyers sometimes fail to contact us regarding ownership changes or status of fees. Annual fees should be sorted out upon sale and is the responsibility of the parties involved to correctly pro-rate paid (or outstanding) fees for each property. Please note that the annual fee is not optional; it is secured by the NDHA Encumbrance registered on your property title. Fee enquiries should be emailed to the NDHA treasurer at accounts@ndha.ca.

The NDHA Board members have established the 2024 budget and will use it to guide what projects will be completed this growing season. The “to-do” list is always long, but we always ensure a fiscally responsible approach to keep our community green spaces as beautiful as ever.

VOLUNTEERS, PLEASE! As the saying goes, “It takes a village” … You have made Discovery Ridge your village…The NDHA has some retiring board members this year. Please consider the opportunity to serve your community by volunteering for the NDHA; the term starts in June and runs for 12 months. Various positions are available. We meet once monthly (except August and December) for a few hours. You are welcome to join us as a guest at one of our meetings to check things out; don’t hesitate to contact us for our next date and time. Alternatively, we would be pleased to have a board member meet with you to chat about volunteer opportunities.

We are always happy to hear from our NDHA members; please access our website at ndha.ca for NDHA News updates or to send an email – you can also call us at 403-237-9595.
